SOS series of overseeding ryegrass allows you to choose the optimum transitioning speed for your turf application. With quick establishment, fine leaf texture and a dark green color, you'll enjoy the SOS 211 blend of ryegrass. The SOS 211 is a blend of both perennial and annual ryegrass seeds that allows for a moderate transition in the late spring and early summer.
Establishment: Mow and rake the desired area to be overseeded to remove any unnecessary thatch or debris. Broadcast the seed in 2 different, criss crossing directions to reduce skips and overlaps. Seed SOS 211 at a rate of 15 pounds per 1000 square feet. Water in immediately after seeding to ensure good seed-to-soil contact.
Fertility and Watering: Turf type ryegrass generally use around 4-6" of rainfall/precipitation per month. During establishment, light, frequent watering applications are recommended to keep the soil around the seed moist. Watering will begin to be reduced after germination and as the seed matures. Fertility levels are fairly low for ryegrass seed, light applications of nitrogen once or twice monthly during the growing season will give you enough fertility for a quality stand.
