SUMMARY

Hubam is a summer annual sweetclover that is adapted from Georgia to Maine. It blooms and sets seeds in the planting year. Its value is largely in its soil health benefits (including nitrogen fixation) and its ability to attract pollinators with its abundant nectar production. Hubam clover can be frost-seeded in late winter or spring seeded as a summer annual.

01

DEEP TAPROOT

Penetrates compaction and hardpan, opening the soil profile.

02

NITROGEN FIXATION

Substantial nitrogen contribution in a single season.

03

ANNUAL CYCLE

Completes in one year — no multi-season stand commitment.

04

HONEY PLANT

One of the premier nectar sources for bees.

05

SOIL BUILDING

Heavy root mass adds organic matter at depth.

06

DROUGHT HARDY

Taproot carries it through dry stretches.

07

COUMARIN CAUTION

Sweet clover requires care in hay — improperly cured bales can cause bleeding issues.
